Remix

Remix is a workshop and experiential course aimed at young people with migrant backgrounds and parents “at the crossroads” between two cultures, those of origin and those of arrival.
The overall goal is to Promote and experiment with youth pathways of experiential education and training in intercultural inclusion and contamination, in the belief that the so-called “second generations” are the present and future of our cities and that the welfare and development of the entire community depends greatly on the level of inclusion and participation of young people with migrant backgrounds.
With young people, the project includes a cross-cultural workshop to deal with some themes related to the sphere of the self, one’s hybrid identity, and one’s roots, to foster empowerment and work on enhancing the richness of diversity, through educational, artistic and theatrical conduction. In a second step, the action will change the point of view, seeking to trigger protagonism in young people themselves with an approach directed toward being active citizens.
With adults, the course will be structured in cycles of group meetings that will have a different theme each time, pertaining to the topics of parenting between two cultures, rediscovering the richness of one’s identity, and empowerment.
Remix is a project of ASCS in collaboration with theAssociazione Arcobaleno, l’Associazione Teatro Utile – Il viaggio, l’Associazione Etnos and the Progetto Aisha, as well as the involvement of migrant communities in the area, with particular reference to the Arabic-speaking, English-speaking Filipino, Latin American, and Sinhalese communities, with the idea that anyone who wants to take part in the journey can be involved.
