My name is Judith, I am 28 years old and I am in love with life! My journey with ASCS began in the land of capitanata, between Siponto and Borgo Mezzanone, in 2018, when I participated with my friend Laura in my first Io Ci Sto Camp. As I often think, this journey since then has never ended: today together with many other young activists we continue with ASCS to cultivate the dream of a world with more bridges less muri, to spread waves of Humanity like wildfire. We accompany and involve other young people to see beauty where there seems to be none, to give it even more light and together build and believe that a different world is possible.

My experience with ASCS has been a journey of personal growth that slowly allowed me to discover my calling. I started off on tiptoe and savored the beauty of being able to change viewpoints and “dream the dreams of others.”

From 2018 to the present, we have walked a lot together and there would be many anecdotes to tell. However, I choose to share the simplicity of a moment of everydayness and conviviality during the last camp Through in the Foggia area: coffee with Assyma, in Pista, in his tin house, also a bar if necessary: we felt that he was the one taking care of us with his coffee, his fresh water, his sweet eyes and his hugs. And from the many experiences this I take away: it is our time that is the most beautiful thing we can put in. Our being, “standing alone and waiting in silence, occasionally being happy to have only our hands in our pockets.” The time of coffee with Assyma, of a game of cricket in Pontinia or soccer in the square in Ventimiglia and at the refuge in Oulx, or of sipping a chai making small talk in the world square in Trieste.
