ASCS – Agenzia Scalabriniana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo is looking for an administrative figure to join its team. The position is part-time and can be based in the Rome or Milan offices.

Who we are

ASCS is an organization committed to promoting the rights of migrant people and vulnerable communities through welcome, social inclusion, advocacy and development cooperation projects.

ASCS works in close collaboration with the Scalabrinian Missionaries and numerous institutional and third-party partners

Role

The selected person will support administrative and reporting activities, working with the coordination team and the administrative area of the organization.

Main activities

  • Supporting the administrative management of the project

  • Collection and organization of accounting records
  • Supporting the reporting of public funds
  • Monitoring of project expenditures
  • Preparation and verification of documentation required by lenders
  • Coordination with partners and administrative office for collection of expense slips

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or training in administration, business or related field
  • Previous experience in reporting on publicly funded projects
  • Good organization and document management skills
  • Precision and attention to detail
  • Good computer skills (Excel and basic digital tools)
  • Ability to work in a team
  • The following is a preference
  • Experience in the third sector
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures related to public funding
  • Familiarity with projects funded by ministries, government agencies, or foundations

Who we are

ASCS – Scalabrinian Agency for Development Cooperation is a dynamic organization working for and with migrants, refugees and local communities. We are looking for a young, creative and motivated figure to join our communications team for a training internship.

Goal of the Internship

The intern will support the communications area in creating visual content and managing digital platforms, helping to give voice to our projects through modern and effective visual storytelling.

What you will be in charge of

  • Graphics: Design of event posters, website materials and visual content for social channels.
  • Social Media: Creating posts and carousels for Instagram/Facebook and strategic support for the development of the TikTok channel.
  • Video Editing: Shooting and editing of short videos, Reel and TikTok to tell the story of ASCS activities.
  • Web Management: Support in updating content on the site (WordPress) and basic SEO optimization.

Profile Wanted

We are not looking for an established professional, but someone with a good theoretical foundation, curiosity and a strong creative streak. We are looking for someone who has the desire and courage to dare, innovate and experiment with new communication languages. If you like to test new formats and are not afraid to come up with out-of-the-box ideas, you are the right person.

Required skills

  • Fundamentals of Graphic Design: Knowledge of the basics of composition, space management, font and color choice, and ability to apply proper visual hierarchy.
  • Graphics Software: Basic use of Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign or related software (e.g., Affinity Suite) and excellent command of Canva.
  • Video & Social: Basic video shooting and editing skills. Passion for new digital languages (TikTok/Reels).
  • Digital & Web: Familiarity with WordPress and rudiments of SEO.
  • AI & Innovation: Curiosity and interest in generative Artificial Intelligence (textual and visual). We would love to find someone who wants to experiment with how AI can support creativity and social.

ASCS – Scalabrinian Agency for Development Cooperation has since 2004 been the social, operational and cultural arm of the Missionaries of St. Charles – Scalabrinians working to support migrants, refugees and local communities in the Europe – Africa region. We are currently looking for a figure for the position of Project Officer to join our staff in the Milan office.

Main Responsibilities and Activities

  • Universal Civil Service Management;
  • Managing soft skills and hard skills courses Milan location;
  • Managing volunteers in organizing activities;
  • Participation in meetings with the multidisciplinaryteam;
  • Supporting and managing partner relations regarding project-level proposal activities;
  • Direct and constant confrontation with the Project Coordinator and workteam.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the phenomenon of human mobility with previous experience in working with migrants and refugees;
  • Educational Science, Social Service, Political Science degree;
  • Previous experience working in cross-cultural education;
  • Hourly flexibility;
  • Excellent listening skills;
  • Adaptability and time management skills;
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills;
  • Ability to work in a team and independently;
  • Good knowledge of English and/or Spanish.

Duration: 12 months
Hourly commitment: 38H/week
