(Building Bridges Among Young Europeans in the Heart of the Mediterranean Sea)

A training camp where encountering others is at the heart of everything. Young people from Italy, Malta, and across Europe will gather on a small island on the border in the heart of the Mediterranean to engage in dialogue, listen to one another, and exchange views on human mobility. It will be an opportunity to go beyond borders and experience firsthand what it means to build networks, forge authentic relationships, and imagine together the future of our common European home.

When: October 21–25 , 2026

Where: Malta — In the heart of the Mediterranean, on a small island at the crossroads of civilizations that for centuries has served as a bridge between cultures, languages, and people. Malta, just like Italy, lies at the center of the Central Mediterranean route: a land with which to share reflections on common challenges and strategies. We will experience days filled with listening, learning, discussion, and discovery.

Who can participate: Open to all young people between the ages of 18 and 35 who are comfortable with the English language.

Organizers and Partners: An initiative organized by ASCS and CLC Malta.

What are we going to do?

A comprehensive community experience designed to explore the topics of human mobility, rights, and the protection of vulnerable groups, combining sessions with experts, field experiences, and opportunities for discussion among participants.

Training with Experts: We will engage in direct dialogue with people who work at local NGOs, international institutions, universities and the academic community, migrants arriving in Malta, and host communities that operate on a daily basis throughout Malta.

Cross-Cultural Exchange: We will work together and exchange ideas in international groups to develop a shared vision of future challenges and strategies.

Discovery and Beauty: We will explore Malta’s artistic and natural wonders, visiting its cities from different perspectives and discovering how the history of this land tells a story of encounter.

Why participate?

To overcome prejudices, experience fraternity firsthand, and discover how a small island manages, lives, and tells the story of the border of our shared sea. Over the next few days, we’ll have the opportunity to explore the topic of human mobility by sharing ideas and opinions with young people from different parts of Europe, in the truly unique setting of Malta, an island in the middle of the Mediterranean.

Practical Information

To participate in the camp, we ask for a minimum donation of 80 € to cover the event’s costs (this should not prevent you from participating: please contact us if you’d like to attend but don’t think you can cover the full fee). The fee includes meals, lodging, insurance, and local transportation during the camp.

Each volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own round-trip travel to Malta.

The camp will be conducted entirely in English.
