Milan, a city of encounters and new opportunities, is home to Crossover, ASCS‘s new project, implemented with a grant from the Milan Community Foundation.

Crossover wants to be much more than a project: it is a space for listening, growth and possibilities for foreign women and their children. Today in Milan more than 20 percent of residents are foreigners and, among them, many women experience difficult situations: violence, trauma related to the migration path, social isolation. And often these difficulties are also reflected on their children, either born here or arrived to reunite with their families.

With Crossover, we want to provide a concrete response to these challenges by offering free psychological support services in the native language, empowerment pathways, Italian courses, financial education, job orientation and cross-cultural creative workshops.

Basically, what do we do?

• We help women and their children recognize and cope with psychological distress, thanks to a team of psychologists who speak their language and understand their experience.
• We build pathways to boost self-confidence, improve skills and find new educational and employment opportunities.
• We create meeting spaces where, through art, music and dance, different cultures meet, get to know each other and enrich each other.

The numbers we want to reach? By 2025 we aim to involve at least 420 women and 60 young people, accompanying them on a path of personal and social growth.

Crossover was born from the desire to build bridges, not walls; to see diversity as an asset; to offer, to those who have gone through difficult experiences, the chance to regain confidence, strength and new horizons. Because every encounter can be the beginning of change. And Milan can become, even more, a home for all.
