Let’s fill the House of Hope: Merry Christmas from ASCS
At this special time, when the light of Christmas illuminates our homes, our thoughts go out to all those who are still on the road, looking for a safe place to call home.
Last year we told you about “Sparks of Dreams.” Today, those sparks have become a reality in our new campaign, “A House that Welcomes. “ We firmly believe that a home that can open its doors can truly change the world, one person at a time.
The greeting video: the joy of the meeting
This video was made with the energy and talent of Scalamusic, an ASCS project that uses music, singing, acting and dance as a universal language of encounter and integration. With this video we want to show how an empty house can be transformed into a vibrant place of life when we decide to welcome the other.
Four Houses, four beacons of hope
Together with the Scalabrinian Missionaries, ASCS presides over four nerve centers along the migration routes, offering protection and pathways to autonomy: Cape Town (Lawrence House), Calais (Maison Effatà), Ceuta (San Antonio Center) and Rome (Scalabrini House 634).
In these Houses we offer not only a roof, but concrete accompaniment: protection, legal support and paths to autonomy for those who have faced the most difficult journeys. They are places where hope does not die, but is rekindled every day thanks to solidarity.
Become the key to these doors
Every gesture of generosity is the key that allows these doors to remain open. Every contribution is a step toward a future of security and opportunity for all.
A path that continues
Our storytelling does not stop here. We will continue to bring you inside our Homes to let you hear the voices of those seeking refuge and the stories of our volunteers, the beating soul of shelter. A house is made of bricks, but it is the people who donate their time who build true hope.
With the hope that this Christmas may inspire us to build together a world increasingly capable of holding doors open to all diversity in the footsteps of Jesus who embodied welcome to all and everyone.
Merry Christmas, from the heart and many good things!
With deep gratitude,
Joachim Campese
ASCS president
